Day 1 of Solid Design House's SolidWorks 2008 rollout event was quite breathtaking.
Copenhagen is beautiful, the venue was a great choice for a seminar, and the turnout was quite astounding.
The seminar was held in screen 8 of the Cinemax movie theatre just on the outskirts of the city. It was quite an experience being at the front of an audience of up to 200 people with the back drop of the big screen behind me.
There was only a small issue in that one customer turned up slightly late and sat down in screen 7 for the first half of the what's new in SolidWorks 2008 presentation, still he did get to watch Rush Hour 3. I am not sure if you could confuse Jackie Chan with Mr. Torimoto (remember the SolidWorks origami video?) so I don't know where this customer went wrong.
Anyway it did bring a tear to my eye watching our baby, DriveWorksXpress, looking all grown up inside SolidWorks 2008. And being presented so proffessionally by a technician from Solid Design House. Our development team have done an amazing job in rounding off the sharp edges of DriveWorksXpress, and the useability teams from SolidWorks and DriveWorks have just put that sparkle of magic into the look and feel.
I heard several people mention that DriveWorksXpress being in SolidWorks 2008 is going to save them lots and lots of design time, which is what we are all about.
