Members of the DriveWorks Team go to SOLIDWORKS World each year for a number of reasons. There is always so much to see and do so trying to do this round up now could result in a very very long blog post. Perhaps some links and photos will help! Or a visit to our facebook page.
We have however been gathering useful links and putting together photos so I hope we can cover most aspects here.
1. We Sponsor & Exhibit
We were pleased to be silver sponsors again and you can see our booth in the Partner Pavilion in the photo below. If you look closely you will see the DriveWorks Kiosk - designed and made by our very own Design Club. (More about Design Club in the next blog post). The Kiosk was a great way of encouraging people to just start "Configuring" using DriveWorks - We had people creating all sorts of products on it and also using the tablets and smartphones we had strategically placed on the booth.
2. We Present
Ever since DriveWorksXpress first appeared in SolidWorks we have been delivering a hands-on session. Once again all the places were taken before Christmas and there were 20+ wait listed on the day.
3. We listen and learn
We also attend so we can hear what's coming up in SolidWorks 2016, although our Devs are pretty close to the SolidWorks team anyway but it's good to hear how SOLIDWORKS are presenting new features. We always enjoy listening to the Keynote speakers and this year's DR. MICHIO KAKU - Theoretical Physicist, Author & Professor on How Technology will Change our Lives and JINSOP LEE Industrial Designer, Chief Globalization Officer, Linno who presented on Designing for he Five Senses, kept us interested and entertained.
You can view some of the presentations below.
Day 1
And see some of the fun products on display in the Product Showcase areas
4. We attend for the Community
We enjoy meeting up with people we know and we make friends with new people too. What a joy to chat with engineers and designers that are using SolidWorks and DriveWorks and finding out what they have been doing and what they want to do in the future.
As we take a mixed team - Sales & Marketing, Dev, and Technical we are guaranteed to have some valuable conversations when we get back to the office too. Tomorrow Sarah from our Dev team and Ian, veteran SWWorlder, author of The Little Book of Rules and DriveWorks documentation guru are leading our weekly show & tell and the topic of course is SOLIDWORKS WORLD. They'll be playing our time lapse recordings from the booth so you can expect to see that on this blog sometime soon too.
Great to see you guys there, and my excitement for DW12 has only increased!
